I'm drooling! What a beautiful old Mauser.
"Stand your ground.
Do not fire unless fired upon.
But if they mean to have a war let it begin here."
- Capt. Parker, Lexington Militia, April 19, 1775
Me too, but then I've akways been a freak for those full stocked rifles. I have one that I'm trying to find a scpe mount for. Dunno what the original caliber was but someone had P.O. Ackely rebarrel it to a .270 Win. My gunmith told me it would take about $400 to fill in all the holes and reblue the receiver, then alter the bolt handle to clear the scope and D&T it for the scope mounts. I'm guessing that rifle weighs about 6.75 pounds at the most so a scope would bring it up maybe a hair over 7 pounds, give or take a few ounces.
