    Hi everyone,

    Let me just say thanks to all of you simply for being here. For a new reloader this is gold mine of info.

    In my neck of the woods the winds blow strong, the ranges are flat and wide open, and the targets are small. Yes, I shoot gophers and paper targets. I used to hunt deer but my family simply don't want to eat it, so I'm a target shooter now.

    I'm looking forward to learning from all of you, and hope that I have something to offer in return. Happy shooting!

    I used to shoot 30-06 and .270 for deer, but I don't hunt much anymore. Now I shoot .308 for the sake of shooting 30 cal (inexpensive and flexible). My favorite is 22-250, but its a real chore to keep the rig fed. My new thing is .223. I've only reloaded twenty rounds of this so far. I'm giving some serious consideration to casting for the 22s.

    Once you guys have taught me some things about reloading, I'll be able to take my shooting in a new direction.

    Hey, I've done some casting for bullets in .22 caliber. Those, however, are for the old Savage .22 High Power. So, I've got no experience with the .223. I'm sure you can, however, make a real fine small game load with it.

    i would start by casting for the 308 first.
    they are just a bit easier.

    There isn't to much I don't cast for or reload. 22 to 50 Cal.

    It's not hard at all just a little patients nd practice.

    Patient I am, and practice I will!
    Good advice on the .308 casting. I think that's where I'll start.
    I don't own and bullet moulds yet, but I started casting fishing weights just to get a feel for it. They look nice, but I don't think they'll be very accurate!
