Reloads for XD
Has anybody had trouble with reloads for 45 ACP Springfield XD service model? I have always used 200gr SWC Win.231 5.3gr in my other two 45’s this gun will not shoot them at all. They would feed fine but would not eject the brass out. Springfield said to use 230gr bullets. So I tried the 230gr RN they work great with Win. 231 from 4.3gr (12,200cup) to 5.3gr (16,900cup). What I don’t understand is why the 200gr bullet with more pressure (cup) will not work. ??
I have a buddy with an XD and it behaves exactly like yours. Using the same brass, primer, powder, and charge weight, 200grs wont cycle 230grs will. I believe it is something in the formula for inertia that includes mass, not just pressure.
