Default Cast bullet loads for the Garand

I have a Lyman 311291 mold that performs wonderfully in my 1903-A3 and would like to use it in my Garand. Anyone have any experience with this bullet or any other cast bullet in the Garand?

Yes. It ought to feed pretty well. I have had success with light charges of 3031, 4064, and 4895. You might want to go with a fairly hard alloy. There is a lot of info on shooting Garands and M1A's with cast over on CB next door. I suggest you do a search there for additional info and other powders.

Thanks for the pointers. I'm still trying to find my way around this site but expect to conquer it soon. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks but it can be done.
