    Default Stoeger Uplander 12 ga.

I am the new owner of a Stoeger Uplander 12 ga SxS. It appears that it has been shot very little and is tight. Took it out yesterday to check the patterns. Patterns were good, points well and shot to point. My only complaint is that the right barrel trigger is a little stiff. Will have to take a look at it. Otherwise I am a happy shotgunner.

Wrong, wrong. Went dove hunting yesterday with Steve, Pat and Mike A. I got half of the birds shot. Of course it fell into an area where it could be found but everyone saw it go down. Luck, probably.

I shot all my younger life with a side by side fox hammer gun and would happily still shoot it but some nephew got it to hang up as an antique. I graduated to Auto loaders but have gone back to SxS as my master eye diminished with age and my right eye kept interfering and would flick up the side of the barrel as I swung. Went back to SxS and cured the problem. Now own two side by side's and can still bring the high ones down. It's been a while since I had Pheasant and quail stew with herbs and dumplings. so am off to the North Island to suss things out, and do a bit of fishing. Will be back some time in the new year so wish all a happy Xmas and bright New Year.

Well returned back to this Island a week and a half ago. There are Pheasant and Quail prospects around up there but nothing like there was a few years back. Still i may go up and have a look May/ June season if time and the coffers allow. a very nice 30-06 FN rifle sort of got picked up in my wake and finally followed me back. Best of the New Year to you guys, ancestor

I have found that these stray rifles that follow me home stay around a lot longer than the stray women. You know what women my age look like. A rifle my age still looks like new and often still shoots that way too.

You can't compare your guns to your women.

    ... or can you?
