i am pushing 2% sn wi th acww's to 1400 in my 24" model 92
with no leading problems, sized 452 with a fairly hard lube
i use this same lube in my 308 and a 4/6 mix with 20" bbl
    have taken it to 2250.
usually the fit and pressure to hardness, takes care of leading issues.
mostly caused by too hard of a bullit

I've also had good results in 44 carbines with cowboy loads, and I use LLA almost exclusively in autoloaders; but in wheelguns... oh my...!

    Default Off the shelf 454

Laser-Cast makes cheap 250 and 300 grain boolits you can push 1600 fps with no problems. Hornady XTP/MAGs can be pushed to 454 speeds better than speer bullets. Check out Cabela's For Laser-Cast.

FWIW, With my FA 454 Casull, I have obained my best accuracy with Sierra 300gr Flatpoints. The ones marked "Not for use in 45 Colt" With full power loads I have shot groups slightly over" 1 inch often enough to know that it isn't an accident. The only other brand that came close was the now discontinued Freedom Arms 300 grainers.

Of the Casulls I have shot ( all Freedom Arms) all preferred the 300 gr jacketed bullets to the lighter ones.

Haven't played with cast bullets in the Casull, but I have a few boxes of 300 and up on my bench for a rainey day. I have shot a LOT of 44 mag cast stuff at around 1400 fps with only trace leading using wheelweights and alox/beeswax lube

    Hope this helps you out!
