    Default Lil Gun Opinions 357??

I bought 100 158 gr XTPs to try with Lil Gun for my 4" ss GP-100 357. I would like to use 125 gr bullets, but can't find any load data for them. I have a 357 reloaders guide and Lee's Modern Reloding 2nd. Lee doesn't have load. Only Hodgdon listed load data with Lil Gun. I used 16.7 gr of Lil Gun and spm primers col 1.587" with the 158 gr XTPs. Pressure is supposed to be a lot less than with most powders. Wanted to use Titegroup, but its been sold out for over a month. Anybody else out there using Lil Gun for 357?

I use lil gun for 357 Maximum loads but not for 357 Magnum. It is a bit too slow with all but the heaviest bullet weights in the Magnum and I suspect that using 125gr bullets with Lil gun will not be an optimal combination. If I were going to try it, I'd use a heavy crimp to try and get more consistent ignition/burning.

For what it is worth regarding Lil'Gun, in my K-Hornet, I found it heat sensitive. Last year early morning p-dog shooting with it under 35 gr. Hor V-max at temps in high 60's, low 70's, it shot great, with little pressure signs. That afternoon, it got up to mid to high 90's, and the same loads started showing excessive pressure, and blew a couple of primers. Stopped right there. I called Hogden and asked about heat sensitivity, and was told that it was not considered heat sensitive. So, for what ever it is worth!!!! I now only shoot H-110 in the K-Hornet. Great
p-dog rifle for out to 250.
