    Default Pedersoli Sharps

    Has anyone worked up any loads for the Pedersoli Sharps 45/70 405 grn in modern powder? Liberty....

    if i recall
    mike venturino did a bit of work with this and 5744 powder it basically duplicated
    and bested bp loads

    He is published in diffrent "gun" magazines "American Handgunner", "Guns" magazine, and the S.P.G. magazine "Black Powder Cartridge News"
    You can also "Google" a search for him and perhaps one of his articals will be pointed out.

    i believe it was in handloader or shooting times
    could also try accurate arms online

    here are a few 5744 loads from their book with cci 200 primer and rem brass
    300pb 27.9 1405 fps to 31.0 1597 fps all with 24" bbl
    405 pb 24.71192 fps to27.5 1355 fps
    475 w/gc 24.3 1102 to27.0 1253 fps
    500pb 23.4 1070 to 26.0 1217 fps
    530pb 20.1 1036 to22.4 1178fps with postell
    530 pb rn 25.6 1024 to28.5 1280fps

    these are below 18,000 psi and should work well in your pedersoli
