Default Load data for 45-70 using Lyman 457677 and 457132

    Hi all,

I have a Browning 1885 Creedmoor and I'm having trouble finding load data for smokeless loads for the 490 gr and 535 gr Lyman cast bullets. Lyman doesn't list any in their Cast Bullet Handbook or in the Lyman manual #45. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some load data in these bullet weights?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Default heavy 45-70

    Yes,
The Lyman Reloading Handbook 48th Edition lists quite a few loads with pressures in the Trapdoor and Ruger #1,3 Sections. Various cast bullet weights listed run from 292 gr to 535 gr. While the modern 1885 is pretty strong I don't think I'd push it to the loads listed in the Ruger section.
