Cool Flux and Stir, Flux and Stir.

Man after three off and on again days of melting lead and casting bullets, I was starting to dream about it last night Flux and Stir.
Got rid of 4 5 gallon pails of lead and cast 1 large coffee can each of 357, 44 Mag and 45 all with them Group Buy Moulds.
Should be good for a while. Ken

kodiak: Now the real work begins. Those boolits can't stay in coffee cans forever. It just means more trips to the range with little time available since the "boss" has other plans. Have a great holiday and shoot straight!

Trips to the range, well yes the wear and tear on the vehicle the cost of gas man this is going to break me. I guess the only thing is if I would of had to buy oh lets say 3000 plus bullets even cast up hewre in Canada would have broke me.

Fluxing to much, no I have a 40 pound cast pot only stir it with a wood stick then shot of candle wax or marvel flux and only using that to get rid of it. Then it will be the stick and one shot of borax or lube wax or candle wax. Only have 1/2 a can left so shouldn't be more than another couple years till I get rid of the marvels.

I here you on the flux and stir. I sat on my porch the other night when it was pretty out and casted a pile of 120gr truncated cone bullets for my Super .38.
I must say it is not so much of a money saver as I just enjoy casting.

kodiack1: With the price of gas (even Iranians complaining) and Pb's getting more than the price of butter, I'm thinking of buying an old horse (nag), feed it with grass along the highway, ask for donations from welfare recipients to collect Pb wheelweighs, and quit my dayjob to have more time to shoot my cast boolit guns that I can't afford to shoot anyway. I might lose the 'ol Lady, though. I sure get tired of TV dinners. Maybe this is a plan?

    Default Flux and Stir

Kodiac1: With the "Boss" in the kitchen, maybe I'll forgo those damnable TV dinners. That's the weak link in my plan! Have a great day!

    Who needs TV dinners?

Just nail a ground hog, woodchuck, with a cast boolit. They make a great stew.

I get mine out of a soy bean field and simmer in a crock pot with Campbells French Onion soup instead of water. Comes out falling off the bone tender and slightly sweet tasting from being raised on the soy beans.

Heck I have a 1950s' cook book that even has recipes for muskrat.
