Default Cast bullet for Springfield 1911

What would be a good bullet for a 1911 semi-auto for bullseye shooting? This would be fairly light loads, around 200 grains,800fps. I have been using Lyman moulds on other calibers, and they work for me,but if there is something else that would work better, I would appreciate the info.

Many where I shoot use lswc-200grs/ W-231@ 5.0grs. Give or take a few tens on the powder. I don't know myself but they claim 750 to 850 fps.
For just straight up target I use lswc-200grs @ 4.7grs of W231. I have a 41/4" barrel scandium and it does fine for 25yds.

LEE molds have given me excellent accuracy.
The 190SWC doesn't cut clean holes (feeds in everything though).
The 200SWC doesn't feed in every gun, or out of every mag, if you load more than five rounds, but cuts clean holes (it is a copy of the H&G 68 ).

I settled on 4.7/4.8grs of TiteGroup which seems to be more accurate than 4.4grs. I tumble lube with LEE's liquid alox.

With worn barrels, I have better accuracy with standard stick lubes.

Note that I run the alloy temperature higher for aluminum (LEE) molds, which makes mixing iron ones in the session difficult.

4 gr Bullseye under 200 gr LSWC of the H&G design has been a standard loading for bullseye shooters for years. Soft and accurate out to 50 yards which is all they wanted.

Try 3.5 Bullseye under the 185 SWC (#130 H&G or SAECO). Works VERY well in my GI with softball recoil spring.

Gunny, that Springfield will digest those 225gn. with 230gn cast load data. 231 and Titegroup seems to work fine but, I find Unique to be a little dirty in my Colt critter, 45, just watch the seating depth of the bullet. One unfortunate soul, blew up his Les Bear 45, when a progressive press put a light target load under a deeply seated 200gn. cast. The magazine went South and the grip panels he was holding went East and West, respectively!

The Lyman 220 gr lead RN must be close. My load for that boolit is 5 Gr Win 231 gave me avg vel of 710 fps with a Standard Deviation of 13.

Another load I have used are 5.3 gr of 231 for 815 fps.

Both loads were accurate in my 1911's
