WMR...any data in short mags??

Hey gang-

My local gun shop is cleaning out their storage area again, and they have some old WMR (Winchester Magnum Rifle) for cheap, well cheap for Alaska. It's in the old galvanized cannisters, but no ugly odors/colors. I bought 1 lb already to use in the .260 Rem; no reports back from the nephew as to how well it does. I have seen some data for this powder in Hornady's manual, and the gun shop has an excerpt from the old Win pamphlet, but the only weapon I have that corresponds to any listed data is the .260. Still, they're selling the stuff for $11/pound, that's about 1/2 price up here, (occassionally I'll find Unique for around $15 but anything under $20 up here is good). So my question is as anyone tried this powder in any of the short mags? I have a .300 RSAUM, but I'm pretty sure I could extrapolate some data for a WSM as they are nearly the same...you know start low & work up. I just need to know where to start, especially since undercharged Win powders are not so nice, (@least from all the warnings I've read). I was also a little perplexed as Hornady lists the powder in the .260, but not .308...why it would work in one, but not the parent case is somewhat mind-boggling.

BTW, the old bugger is trying to seperate me from my paycheck in other ways as well; I was in there yesterday and he had a real nice Rem 700, stainless, Talley rings, in .30-06. The only drawback was a muzzle brake, and the paint on the synthetic stock was a little chewed; it had a beautiful trigger pull though. On the other side of the used rack was a CZ Ringneck in 28 ga, (how he knew I've been wanting a 28 ga double for the last 15 years, I don't know) So, now I have two guns talking to me, loudly; hopefully someone will buy them and remove the temptation soon. Well if your shop has any other powder on sale you should find some info there: http://www.netrifle.com/ , but from a quick search there's nothing on the WMR (data are in the very last link on the page: Short Mag dowloads).

It was apparently close to the Accurate 3100 which doesn't seem to be used in the short mags... http://www.accuratepowder.com/reloading.htm, sorry...

kg- I knew that I could count on you to reply to this one; I was afraid of this, good deal on something I can't use. Thanks much for the effort though. How are you doing on the silvers down there in BC, we are absolutely slaying them up here; take care & thanks again.

I think they beat IMR in austerity and "stability"; that 20 years old pamphlet I got is still up to date for all the six powders they haven't dumped.... and oh-my-gosh, TWO rifle powders !
