    Smile Hardness

About a dozen years ago I melted down and cast ingots from wheel weights.

How hard are they and can I cast 38 bullets from them?

Hard enough for 38 special bullets. I use wheel weight lead all the time.

Yup. I've cast with straight wheel weights and it works fine. Anymore though, I collect metal from a variety of sources and homogenize it. I try to get a mix with at least 5% tin and 2 or 3 % antimony. No way to really know what I've got, but as long as the metal fills out the mold well, shoots well, and doesn't lead the bore, I am perfectly satisfied.

All this talk of casting has me thinking more and more of going on a casting binge. I need a bunch of Lyman 358156, 429421, and Lee 452-252 SWCs.

Hey RR do they allow casting under your bridge?

I bought a box of 500 Speer swaged 158 grain L HP swaged bullets.

    No 22 s eh. F em I'll just shoot 38 s. At least I can reload the 38 s.

Hey Bb I have ingots I made from WW lead. Wanna trade for some 38 bullets? How far apart are we?
