    anybody know what going rate for rechamber job to an imp.

    Here is what my gunsmith charges. The rechamber is $98.00. Add $30.00 if a cut is needed for an extractor cut must be done and another $30.00 if exact 360 degree barrel rotation needed.
    I'm thinking those last two charges would be if a full rebarrel job is being done.
    Dunno how close to standard his charges are but I do know the quality of his work. He's done four rebarrel jobs for me and his chambers are done to match grade standards.
    I think your biggest problem is finding a gunsmith who has the proper reamer to do what you want. You might have to buy the reamer yourself or pay for the rental of one.
    Personally, I don't think you can improve a .243 very much. It's already a pretty straight walled case with little taper so it wouldn't be enlarged by any great amount. You might want to go over to the 24 hour campfire and ask just how much the round would benefit by going the "AI" route. I'm sure there are a few people over there who have done it.
