Default Loads for 7.62x54 for mosin nagant

Anyone know any good start loads with H4350, H4895 or IMR4350? I have some for 2400 and Hvarget. Some other loads with the other powders I own would be appreciated. Thanks!

Before I start listing data, what manuals do you have that don't list the 7.62x54R?

More importantly, what kind and weight of bullets are you planning on using?

Have you slugged your bore? (Even using jacketed bullets it helps to know as there can be a huge variation ain bore/groove diameters from barrel to barrel - I have seen groove diameters from .302" all the way up to .317". Knowing your dimensions is a must for this cartridge.)

All of my manuals have at least some data for it with a wide variety of powders and bullets, and I'm happy to pass on some basic data to you, but I'm not going to transcribe the whole list of dozens of pages.

I am using Lees 312-155-2R mold. It is dropping boolits at .312 for the cast I am using. Plus, I am using hardabll alloy. My .312 boolit go halfway through bore and then fall through when slugging so I need to get a bigger mold to find the right diameter.

That's definitely way too small. You'll need a Lewis Tool to get all the lead out if you shoot them. Sounds like a Ranch Dog .32spec mould is what you'll need with the correct sizer. I usually cast pure lead in a Lee 8mm mould to slug a .30cal. I used to use oval fishing weights but they were banned here a few years ago and they stopped selling them.

You still didn't say what manuals you have on hand......

I have the lyman 49th edition reloading handbook. I am getting the lyman mold that is going to drop the right diameter, .314. I ordered the lyman cast load manual. should be here soon. May have a few loads for the 200gr boolit I will be making.
