Question looking for the perfect 44mag hunting round

I would like to start hunting this year with a 44mag.I have a blackhawk 44mag with 10 barrel.
what would be a good bullet weight to use with what kind of powderand how much grains.
ive reloaded 38s for plinking but not for hunting.
Should i bee looking at any flex tips to pick up fps.
My farthest shot would be no further than 30 yards.
ive been hunting in the same blind for 15 years and marked on the ground.
I just want to make sure nothing is going to get wounded by not having the right load.

hornady xtp and 19 grs 2400 is where i started in both the 44 mag [240 gr] and 45 colt [250 gr].
i have switched to flat point cast bullets since then with the same load of 2400 and have the same results.
my last buck was with the lyman 454429 in my 45 colt, over 19 grs 2400 and the win lp primer, at 60 yds, the two hundred pound buck made 20 yds and flopped.

I used 10g tight group with a 200g XTP, It shot 1300fps out of a 4" smith M29. Not the hottest load, but it works!!! A lot more pleasent than a 357, but with a little more punch. Still wished Kent the pawn shop man had'nt shown me that AR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am using the Lee 310 grain gas checked over 20.3 grains of WW-296. Seated to 1.7". Havn't chrono-ed it yet, but it is very accurate. I'm using a 7.5 " Redhawk

    My favorite is a 265g GCSWC (Lyman 429244) over 22g W296 and a WLP.

    Get 'er done!
