put in the minimal amount to begin with.
wipe with a q-tip while the mold is hot, then run a few boolits it'll smoke but don't cause any problems.
it seems to take about 3 go rounds with a mehanite mold for the kroil to really start to work.
you'll notice it working with the first use though and can tell when it's sinking in or wearing off.
i then add a bit more with the q-tip and waste a few pours and keep on going.
i have been doing a square lube grooved 429421 that refused to give up it's boolits but now on my 3rd application/heat cycle, it has gotten extremely/much more waay better and gets better with each use.
i have taken to just coating the mold with it after each use and leaving it on the entire mold, then wiping it down with a rag before starting and after warming.
Will Kroil work on aluminum Lee moulds too?
Bigscot
it does but not as well it don't seem to work into the pores like steel.
i usually lightly smoke the mold with a lighter for aluminum.
