45-70 BP Loads

I just got the Billy Dixon Pedersoli Sharps in 45-70.

I am trying to get information on BP loads for this for a 405, 500, and 525gr bullets.

I am new the BPCR thing. I regulary shoot BP pistol and muzzleloader for hunting.'

This rifle will be designated stricly for long range. My plan it not only to use it for BPCR shoots but for my eventual trip out to MT for the Q match.

Can anyone shed some possible light on this or is it a trial and error thing, meaning like load it like it was originally supposed to be and go from there. 70gr of 2F w/500 gr RN bullet.

BP starts with a matter of volume, slightly compressed by a wad; check volumes versus brands of brass if you use several of them.

bpcr isn't normal reloading, it's more like bench rest.

Fill that brass with ffg compress so bullet seat where you want it to seat bullet and shoot.
your 500's and 525's you may have to cut back 5 grains or so to get the length over all that you need.
