Hi Doug
127gr calls for a Gallery Load; it is the weight of a round ball in that caliber so I guess you have very little bearing surface.
Google "round ball load" for 44 and 45.
3 to 5 grains...
Seat the bullet deeper, flush with the case mouth. Depending on how much space is left in the case, you can look at heavier bullets loads.
Or, for example, if you have a pet load with the 158gr,...
Hi Guesser
There's a dozen things to talk about with these guns, usually wrong ones in the opinion of most, like saying they are "on 1911 frames":
"did you see the grips fit", "is that a...
These are actually Star frames....

Welcome aboard John
If you go for the single stage press, pick one with the little priming arm at the bottom (Hornady, Lee Classic Cast, etc...), it will save you lots of time as you can prime...
It's not unknown for LEE dies to be out of (their own) specs.
Do you think the expanding plug is going all the way in the case? If yes, contact LEE.
If not, would it help to trim the die a...
Too much TV in my younger years I guess, that and being a city slicker... :)
Heavier bullets might be more adapted to the barrel twist.
Buy surplus 7.62x54R and pull the bullets. Actually you should slug your barrel first as some of them 303 were as big as 32/8mm.

Got to watch that... I actually had to google "swamp people" to make sure it wasn't about zombies or something (sorrryy,!).
My notes from an old ('80s) Hornady manual give, for their 158 grains swaged bullet:
4.7/5.1/5.4/5.8/6.2/6.5grs of Unique for 850 to 1100fps, by 50fps increments.
This is what Alliant gave 10...
Interesting, It looks like they made a new gun rather than simply single stacking the old one... and had to go through teething problems...
Can you see lots of differences with P11 parts?

It must be that stubby CBA little thing? make a few dummy rounds with some questionable brass found at the range and see if it cycles.
(sometimes, guns will feed from regular shooting but make fuss...
Thank you for sharing.
Considering how difficult it is to get things here, I was wondering if I could remove shots from Trap ammo sold at the range and replace with a slug of same weight + some...
Welcome back Commander:)!
I-don't-believe-it-![smilie=p:
Now you've got some explaining to do Mister![smilie=l:
And we want details about that kit too ! I see they make them in 308...

Rolls of plastic were (?) sold by some stores at some point for the purpose. The process was discussed at Castboolits and some shooters mentioned good results (full speed in 30-30), and variations on...
it is not appropriate for "magnum" loads. You will reach maximum pressures before maximum speeds for the caliber.
Like many superfast powders it is also touchy at these pressures and very likely to...

Keep an eye on Lil'Gun, it is getting a reputation for eroding forcing cones real quick, something to do with too much nitro for a slow powder.
It...
Versifier, have you tried plain base bullets with punched out pieces of plastic or other materials for gas check?
Hi there
I found a few posts by Rocky on Castboolit (searched Kword=special, user= "Rocky Raab" ), he had spectacular improvements for sub-1000fps loads with the short case.
This reminded me...
You're welcome :)

The 327 is a bad caliber, prohibited in Canada, as it is a 32. The 7.62 Tok, the 7.63 Mauser and the 7.65 Long (French), on the other hand, are only restricted, as they are, well, I suppose, not...
