[smilie=w: Got a spike at 4:00pm today at the river, my first rifle kill with open sights. a 41yd shot through the trees, had a 12" gap in the wood to shoot through he did'nt go anywhere!

Left very good hole for a 30-30 load, that's plenty for the river bottom and open sights and they hit where the sights point!!![smilie=w:

The M48 I bought with the plan of hunting turned into a "sewer bore." Not sure what I'll do with it. I'll try some cast and then some FLGC, but not holding out a lot of hope that it'll be a good shooter.
I did buy a VZ24 with the idea of turning it into a 7.62 x 39, but it was just too nice to "Bubba," so I may try using that for 8mm hunting. We'll see.
