my favorite is my winchester mod 70 per 64 in 270
never had to shoot twice with it any thing from 25 yeads to 310 yeards
the 25 was a 4 point 125lbs deer .the310 a groundhog
i have severallong guns but you asked for my favorite
It all depends on what I'm doing at the time, elk and/or moose, bear, etc. .45/70, deer sized game my Marlin .30-.30, Henry BB .45 caliber, rabbit/squirrel .22 rimfire bolt action or, if I'm feeling particularly lazy .410 caliber pump action shotgun all with iron sights.
I have a savage 110E 30/06 with a bell&carlson senthetic stok, and Laepers scope.

Rem. 760 in 6MM. Dad bought me this rifle new in '85 to start my hunting career in '86. Even though I bought a Rem. 700 in .270 in my late teens, I still find plenty of opportunities each hunting season to take it for a walk.
The 6MM cartridge is a sweet one to shoot, and it easily gets the job done on deer.
My favorite rifle is a Mauser 71/84 in 11mm mauser, all original milsurp 8 round tubemag boltaction, makes a 45-70 look like a 45colt. If I can see it I will hit it. Coyote, deer, hog.
It is the original shoulder cannon.
My backup rifle would be a model 36, not 336, marlin in 30-30. No microgroove to mess with cast boolits.
My favorite rifle is usually the one in my hand as I am shooting (as long as it and I shoot well).
However if I had to pick just one, it would probably be my 77 Rug. in 7x57. A close second would be my M95 Swede in 6.5x55. Have a great fondness for old classic ctgs. Does not exclude my 06's however, and my #1 Rug in K-Hor is well up there. Ah----so many guns, so little time.
