Favorite Single Shots
Wonder why no threads on this subject in a month? Don't know about others, but I have a thing about #1 Rugers. Have #1's in 375H&H, 45-70, and 22-250, and would love to find one in 7x57 that I could afford. Also have a #3 K Hornet, that is my prime p-dog killer out to 225-250. All four of these shoot better than I can, and in addition, in my never to be humble opinion, they are classy looking rifles.

I've got a #1 in 45-70, great shooter, I cast for it, to the best of my knowledge it has never had a jacketed bullet thru it. Remington Rolling block, Argentine Army contract of 1879, good shooter. Savage Model 40 in 22 Hornet, nice rifle. Several T/C Contenders, lots of fun!!!!!!!

I've a #1B in 7mm Rem mag that I changed the trigger on and added a Limbsaver, and I also have a #1B that I converted to 30/06 A.I.
A Savage mod 12 BVSS/S in .308 is my target rifle
I also have an Encore pistol in .454 Casull
Oh, and a 30/30 NEF handi rifle.
And a T/C Hawken
When I get down to it, my only repeating arms are my other pistols, revolvers, two shootguns and a 10-22

Good afternoon
I recon my ALL out FAVORITE is my old Marlin- Ballard in 38-50. Well balanced and easy to haul about the ditches hunting those pesky ground hogs. A 150 gr pure lead boolit ( Ideal 37583) and 46 grains 2F will flatten any "hole borer" it smacks in the shoulders.

I have 2 encores that I enjoy. One is a 375 H&H the other is a 300 Win. mag. I have the 2 complete rifles with no extra bbl's. I have concidered buying extra bbl's but these both shoot great and I hate to mess with them. I have several smaller rifles that shoot good but these are my single shots.

I have a TC Contender Super 14 SS in .44 mag. Has the VR barrel and a Burris 2-7 with posilock on it. Barrel has been magnaported.

Single Shot.
I have a TC Encore SS. action job was done by Virgin Valley to produce a 1.5lb trigger pull. The 2 barrels that I have for this action is a 6MM TCU 15" bull ss Custom Shop brl. and the other is a 12" 44 mag. Both are very accurate.

pistolman: I have a custom 14" barrel from 1982 in 6 X 47MM for my old 1st generation contender. I was looking for a 6TCU, as they were new then but all were gone and backorders were long so I went with a readily available 6 X 47. The 6MM bullet in the 223 or 222 Remington Magnum case is a good combination for a long range low recoil handgun.
I like mine for 27 years now.

Howdy, howdy! I have four T/C's: two contenders (blued & SS), a G2, and a pro hunter Encore and a dozen barrels. I just bought a .308 Win barrel for the Encore that I'm going to christen in a week or two. I've been shootin' these things for the last 35 years and it's been great.
