I have some 405gr LFN Boolits a friend sent me to try out. I have searched around and I'm not finding much Data on the Powders I have on hand. (I also have 100 300gr JHP's)

I have Unique,Blue-Dot,2400 and 3031. Those are all I have that will work with the 45-70. I bought 3031 because I understood that it was a great powder for the 45-70 and 30-30. I'm thinking I should have bought RL-7..

I have an 1895G that I will be shooting them in.

I have been to the alliant and Hodgdon websites and I'm finding some data.
What do you all recommend? I will work all loads up so I dont need any Nuclear Ninja Loads..lol

TY in Advance

P.S. I searched this forum and got 5 results only 2 of which was related. Maybe I was typing .45-70,or 45-70 wrong

45-70 loads: (Maximum charges per my Lyman Manual)
all of these should be 28,000 CUP or less per the manual.

2400
300gr----30gr
405gr----24gr

Unique
300gr----20gr
405gr----15gr

IMR-3031
300gr----52gr
405gr----45gr

19gr of unique behind the 300gr makes a fun plinker load. For serious work I'd use the 3031 starting at about 42gr with the 405s.
