Lets liven things up a bit. How many here actually hunt with a single shot rifle or handgun?
I've hunted elk with a Ruger #1B in .300 Win. Mag. The only problem was the elk did not cooperate. I had a bull tag but all I saw were cows. I push a 200 gr. Speer Hot Core at 2930 FPS from it's 26" barrel.
I collect Ruger #1 rifles so it's pretty much a given that I hunt with them most of the time. I also have one Browning B78 in 30-06 that is quite accurate.
On Ruger #1's, I have them ranging from .22 Hornet to 45-70 with a .404 jefferey and .416 Rigby in the mix. Frankly, if I were to have to sell off most of them, I'd keep the #1A in 7x57 and the three, a #1B and two #1S in .300 Win. Mag.
I've been collecting since 1975 when I got my first one, a #1B in 30-06 and took a nice Mule Deer at 300 yards with it.
So how about it, any other single loader shooter/hunter out there?
