I have imr 4895 powder and the reloading data I have for the rifle I have is
for H4895 powder. I am reloading a k-31 swiss 7.5x55. I bought the imr orginally for reloading a .303 british and just got a die for the swiss rifle and want to reload for the rifle and the load data uses hodgon powder. what is the difference to the two powders and any info would be helpful. I am reloading nosler 125 grain and 150 grain bullets does anyone have data on the imr4895 for the 7.5 swiss rifle. help please.

Welcome to the Guide garbear.

The data for IMR 4895 and H4895 powders DOES NOT INTERCHANGE.
You need to buy a couple of good current loading manuals. Think of them as inexpensive life insurance because they are.

I do not think you will be happy with the accuracy of lighter bullets in your K31. Mine doesn't like anything lighter than 150gr, but it really likes heavy cast bullets 180-190gr best. I have not tried anything with a jacket heavier than 150 & 165gr, and it liked them, too.

Here is some data for you from the Sierra Manual:

7.5x55 Swiss 125gr jacketed, IMR 4895
2700 41.5
2800 43.2
2900 44.9
3000 46.6 MAX

7.5x55 Swiss 15ogr jacketed, IMR 4895
2400 38.5
2500 40.5
2600 42.5
2700 44.5
2800 46.5 MAX
