I have a Sharps 45/70 would like to shoot cast bullets. I have a good supply of 405s and 300 grain slugs. What are some good loads for shooting cast slugs in a Sharps.

Start off with a trip to the Gunloads Home Page and access the Rifle loads in the left column. (Click on "General" above and when the Gunloads Forum page comes up, go to the top and click on "Home Page".) Cast Boolits Forum is another really good source, and I'm sure you will get some good answers here, too.

But if they mean to have a war let it begin here."

Good morning SLUG the BORE ... if your boolits are to small you are wasting your time loading them.
Redwing--- are you going to shoot B.P. or smokeless? I shoot a 34'' Sharps in 45-70 ,500gr
cast and I use 32gr.of IMR4198 and it works very well at the Buffalo and silhouette shoots.
