    Default Model 600

I stopped in at a pawn shop and saw a BEAUTIFUL Remington model 600, in .243, in great shape. $419.99. Almost walked out with it but have a trip coming up. Just learned that I will have additional cash coming in this month and next. May own it.

I have never owned a m600, but have almost several times. I do like the cartridge though. An old friend owned a win100 chambered for it that I used to load for. He killed a lot of deer and bear with it, and a couple of moose too. On the advice of a fanatical .243 adherent we knew, 3031 was the first and last powder we tried. It really liked 100gr GK's and it shot 100gr PAR's acceptably. Dog only knows what that 600 will like for bullets, but I know what powder I'd start with. Let me know when you visit and I'll see what I have in my brass and bullet stash gathering dust.

It was a dream of mine in the 60's to own a M 600. Hope it is there next week. We will see.
