I see in the news that Remington is recalling Model 700's and 7's with only one of their dangerous triggers. A inherent design problem they should have fixed before it was introduced (the designer warned them about the potential before it went into production and redesigned it, but the extra cost of less than $.10 per rifle was too much and Rem said no way). None of them are safe with factory triggers, never have been, despite millions that argue to the contrary because THEIR 700 has never shown any problems. Not that replacing the trigger on a 700 is a big deal, but why should you have to pay an extra $1-200+ to replace a trigger on a new rifle? And why, only now that the class action suit is gaining momentum do they only recall one kind of trigger instead of all the dangerous variations?
