    Question Reduced Loads For 45-70

    Looking For Info/data On Low Velocity Loads For 45-70 Govt- Any Info Is Welcome - I Would Be Using 350gr Jacket/plated Bullets

    IMR 3031 starting load of 39gns & a max of 43gns

    If by low velocity you mean really low vel I don't recommend jacketed bullets as they might stick in the barrel (I don't know about the plated ones).
    Even some commercial hard cast bullets have a very high friction coefficient with their dry lube and high antimony content.
    I suggest you use starting loads for the weakest guns (Trapdoors and Cie), given in manuals and on powder makers websites.

    I don't load jacketed, but a good low velocity load is 12gr of Unique behind a
    405gr LRNFP
