    Default Powder Suggestions

Can you guys suggest some powders that I might need to try in my AR 223 that I hope to get soon. More than likely will be shooting 55 gr pills and may get some 69 gr Sierras. I am going to go to the city this weekend and hit Cabela's.

H335 is great for 55s, and I've had great results using H4895 to drive 60-grain Partitions. Lots of guys like Varget for heavier bullets too. When I shoot 50s in my bolt gun, Benchmark is a great performer. I have heard that X-Terminator works well with lighter bullets but I've only used it in .222 to date. TAC is popular and works well also. Some say 8208XBR works very well. I'm sure there are at least a dozen more that would work well if you can find them. Good luck!!

All those RR mentioned. For my AR my favorite is AA2230 and AA2200.

I do not know if it would be good for you but I have used IMR 4198 with Sierrs 52 grain HP BT Target bullets.. Way sub zero MOA groups. Mine was in a 223 bolt action. Good luck.

Same here as said above.I know NOTHING about autos but do know 4198,benchmark,322,335,4895,varget,R7 and many more works great.4198 and varget is my favorites though in bolt guns.W748 is one that id stay away from because I haven't seen it work good in anything unless just doing the pow, pow, pow thing.I really doubt you will find any HCFE but some people says its great.Varget is super great for 55 to whatever pills from my little bit of testing in the 223 bolt rifle. My old load of 21grns of IMR 4198 with a 55grn WIN/NOSLER combined tech bullet pretty much burns holes at 100 in the CZ so I haven't changed it for many years.I loaded 250 of them and still have about 7 boxes left.

I blow the dust out the barrel once or twice a year and haven't killed with it for a long time but know what ever I point it at is dead when I touch that damn 6oz trig in set mode.

Sorry,i cant help with an AUTO and im a bolt gun loving sucker. The only autos I own is the P89 9mm and shotguns.I do have a JENNINGS JAMMER as SkyKid called it in the 22.He hit the nail on the head and its a PIECE OF CRAP.

not mentioned above is ww 748 ( extremely comparable to 335 & 2230 ) and varget ( among others such as 3031 and CFE )
the heavier projectiles can benefit from a slightly slower powder range eg; aa 2520 , h 380 etc

Certain powders are just classics, like 4350, 4198, 3031 and Unique. I will quit there.
