    Default Short Fat Bullets?

I was recently offered some bullet molds which I didn't recognize. I researched the numbers and came up with some strange looking bullets. A Lyman 356404 which casts a 95 grain bullet , a Lyman 358425 which casts a 112 grain bullet and a Lyman 358242 which casts a 92 grain bullet. There are a few other lightweight molds available also.

Will these bullets really work OK? Seems like the bearing surfaces would be insufficient to engage the rifling in these calibers.

Is anybody using these bullets with success?

Diameter is way much more important than the bearing surface for proper obturation. The question is if the barrel's twist rate will stabilize them or not. Roll your dice, you might get lucky, and the odds are reasonably good. If your revolver likes for instance those Sierra 110gr bullets, then I'd figure it's worth a try. FWIW, I shoot .360 roundballs in my .38 & .357mag revolvers. Most like them, some do not.
