    Default 1:9.5 twist, 7WSM projectiles

It looks like I will be assembling some rounds for my brother’s 7mmWSM.
It is in the A-bolt Browning and has a 1:9.5 twist rate.
He wants to use the most heavily constructed projectile available (for elk).

    The questions are:
What bullet weight will fly well?
What velocity should I be “aiming” for?
Which powders have worked well in the past for “heavy for caliber” loads in the 7WSM?

    Thanks guys,
    K

the old standards work well in the 7 short.
4831 and rl-19 were the two i used most. but i would look at rl-22.
most of the short mags do their best work [accuracy wise] near the top end velocity wise.
i can't help with the bullet construction but the premiums like swift [a- frames] fly well and are pretty tough.
i only used hornady in mine and the interlock 139's for elk & deer. and the rem 140's for plinking and stuff.
i sold mine when i realized it done no more than my 7x57 i.c.l. and the win was not as well made as the old push feed.
i have a bunch of new brass in idaho thats been trimmed and such.
