Thanks, that is about what I had guessed. I don't mind working out the load, as long as it arrives at a satisfactory conclusion. I've got to work on cast loads also. I have the 22 Bator and a 44 gr....

I am loading for 22 Hornet, 50 gr. V-Max. My Lyman handbook #45(1970) lists 9.3-10.3 as start and max loads for this powder. Speer #10 lists 7.5-8.5. Is this due to lawyer nervousness, powder...
My Millet scope came with a scope cover with transparent lenses. It is a bungee cord type, but the transparent (tinted) lenses give the ability to shoot in a hurry if need be. DALE
Never heard of it. Stuff the regular one with all the Pyrodex P you can seat a 255 gr. boolit on and you'll have plenty to try to hang on to. I can't see a need for all the room in that one. DALE
When I first saw this post today I thought Dave ( D-O-K) was back, I miss that guy. Also Toney, second post on this thread, haven't heard from him in a while. DALE
I find the nickle plated brass to be prone to splitting even with low pressure loads in both 45 acp and 38 spc. DALE
+1 on Hornady core-locks, we took 20+ deer last fall with them with good results. Dale
308 or 30-06, can't go wrong with either. That said, I absolutely love my new Weatherby 257 mag. I haven't shot cast with it yet, and may not for a while. If you are going to shoot cast, go with the...
I couldn't wait to fire my new rifle and the brass ordered hasn't arrived but the dies did so started thinking how to solve the problem. I have a lot of 300 Win. Mag. brass, so my first thought was...
My 1911 in 45acp,or Savage stryker in 22-250, orRuger Old Army, or ruger Mk. I, or Heritage single action convertable in 22, or colt navy 36 cal. They are all favorites, I wouldn't want to be without...
The Lee adjustable disc will solve your problem easily. I like it in my loadmaster press as I change boolit weights regularly, and the recorded settings repeat easily and dependably. Dale
Anyone have experience with this powder and cartridge. I'm looking for a way to cheapen feeding this cal. Dale
I used the original formula(with turpentine) so it is a bit oderous, but a piney oder. I added some lanolin for lubrication and rust resistence. Dale
It would be hard to talk me out of using Ed's Red. Dale
I own and use the Lee Classic Turret and love it. I would order the safety prime unit wth it(the one that attaches to the press, not the hand held Auto Prime), it's great and uses the shell holder...
We have a lot of confusion here in the US, just try to talk to a New Yorker with a Texas accent, or a Cajun, or a Mexican, Hatian, or someone from the British Isles. When I moved back to Texas from...
I would recommend Lee dies with the factory crimp die included for use in a semi-auto. There are lots of sites by the powder and bullet companies you can access on your computer, plus lots of info...
Back when I installed boat lifts, a client left his truck near his boat dock while I went around to a launch area directly across from his dock to assemble the lift on my tralier and he brought his...
My brother and his coffe shop friends started pulling pranks on each other, which escalated to the point where they would hide the other's vehicle blocks away in an alley, then even out in the...
The turkeys were flying today. I had to brake hard to avoid catching one in the windshield coming home. I saw them launching from behind the fence on the left, the older birds went up and over, but...
I didn't find it there. Upon closer examination the seal on the bottom flap was loose, so I opened it up. Five rounds were assorted Remingtons, the rest Ely, so I guess I'll just shoot them. They...
Our license runs from August 31 through a year, have to get a new one just in time for dove season around Labor Day. Dale
Driving home the other evening I saw a flock of about 50 turkey north of the house, and noticed that 8 ot 10 of them were gobblers showing off for the girls. Our spring season opens in a couple weeks...
I have come into posession of a box of 12 ga. Ely ammo, seal unbroken. I have never seen this, but realize they are still manufacturing ammo. Just wonder if it might have any collector value, or...
I won't buy another Ruger rifle due to the trigger. Remington and Savage get my business. Dale That is Ruger bolt rifles, I expect the mini-14 to have a military type trigger.
