Ok. How many grams in a pound of powder?
I know that the proper anwer is "All of them."
That ought to start some discussion...
I think it would be 247 grams to the pound. There is 28.34 grains to the gram and 7,000 grains in a pound.:)
hey redwing how far out of evanston are ya?
From my complex computercations and utilisation of a calculater I have deduced that there should be 454.54 grams to the pound. In Australia anyway!
Yup, 28.375 IIRC grams per ounce, 454.? grams per pound. When I first started loading, all I had was a triple beam Ohaus scientific balance I used in the chem lab so I had to convert all the data in grains to grams for weighing my charges.
grains x .065 = grams
At the time, I didn't realize that you didn't need to be accurate to .01 grains. It took quite a while to charge my first few boxes of .38specs weighing each individual charge. My mentor found it amusing, then tactfully suggested I get myself a powder measure and a more appropriate scale, which I did. But you can still see the conversion factor written in sharpie on the edge of my loading bench shelf.
Sorry about that it should be 453. 2.:-D
