I went to the range this afternoon to try out the Lil Gun Vs Titegroup. Titegroup was more accurate for me. Less recoil. Titegroup grouped about 2" at 10 yards whereas LilGun was about 3" at 10 yards. Not comparing apples to apples because LilGun was 158 gr xtp and titegroup was 125gr Rem sjhp. LilGun is a more powerful round. Titegroup is my preference for metering ease and accuracy for my purposes. As far as a target/plinking load TrailBoss with a lasercast lead rnfp is still best I've tried (haven't tried many though).

try the tightgroup with your l-cast boolit you might be surprised.
lil-gun is a bit slower so you can burn more of it to develop speed but t-group
has a wide range of uses and can get you some velocity also

Should I use a gas check w/ lead bullet? I've never pushed lead past around 1100 fps although I understand lasercast is harder than most lead bullets.

you do not need g/c at 1100 fps
lasercast is a lot harder than other boolits
but your determining factor is how well they fit your revolver /throats/forcing cone area
i shoot boolits about half as hard as l-cast over 1300 no gc and no leading

No, it's TITEGROUP, by Hodgdon.

Beware of TITEWAD, designed for 12 gauge only and therefore without pistol data.

Titegroup is Hodgedon's version of Bullseye with similar characteristics; isn't position sensitive, easy to ignite. It's good for reduced power rifle loads too. You should crimp your loads for consistency (lower SD). Universal is another useful powder from Hodgedon too... similar to Unique.

I shoot Laser-Cast at up to 1550 fps with my SRH with no or minor leading.
