My cat, who pretends to read lips, says that the men are yelling: "Look! Look! This one is going to get you!"

And the "before" pics:

They're doing a good job, even I wouldn't think about finding anything usefull in that junk... I almost think about a propaganda stunt with the guns exiting the other end of the plant in mafia trucks

I couldnt do that. Those people are sick!!

Yes, they all escaped and gave many people a safer life , ...right ?
I'm not familiar with guns destruction but is seems that they have at least been mixed with something else...

Bigbore, the pics come from a recent thread at gunboards... not much info: http://www.gunboards.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=200681

When we had our First Gun Buy back over here there were photos of a Electro magent lifting hundreds of Rifles to be chopped (not a Good sight ) Thing is somebody questioned about how many were actualy destroied & how many the Gov sold over seas ! With the second buy back the Police had to destroy the Firearm in front of you ! (admission of Guilt?)

Hey Dave, which guns were concerned?
I think autoloaders over 9mm were hit last time but I was surprised not to read about a wave of 38/45 conversions and use by Australian shooters.

Hey Dave, which guns were concerned?
I think autoloaders over 9mm were hit last time but I was surprised not to read about a wave of 38/45 conversions and use by Australian shooters.

We had the two buy backs ,the first was for Semi auto rifles ,Shot guns & Pumpaction shotguns The second was for handguns over 38 cal Barrel lenght for revolvers was made to be 4inches & 5 inches for semi autos with a Max mag capasity of 10 rounds

There were exceptions to these laws ! Proffestional shooters & Farmers are still alowed semi Auto rifles ,Shot guns & Pump action Shot guns (I slipped through on that one ) As for handguns there were exceptions made for Metalic Sil & Single action (western action ) o I was able to not only keep my SBH in .44mag but was able to save another from the Chop !

In the first buy Back they paid top dollar for these Firearms ! I went round & brought up every el cheapo .22 auto loader I could lay my hands on for between $10 & 50 & sold them back to the Gov for $150 each  I made a point of sending a Thankyou letter & a photo copy of the cheque to the Anti Gun ! movement for the revenue they had made for me (never did get a reply !)

With the Handgun buy back they took even parts ! A Mate of mine had brought a 9mm Norinco for parts ,he paid about $200.00 for it & got 350 for the frame when he handed it in ! I don't think most handgun owners really looked into the new & the exceptions they just saw Dollar signs ,as the Gov was willing to pay top dollar for any Handgun !

What a waste of money. We were on the same road until the Conservatives got elected. I think if we got in the same mess most of us would refuse to turn our guns in. Up here we have had it up to our eyeballs with this nonsense. Enough said.

Take Care

Looks like some goverment folks in Estonia choping up some surplus Tokarevs and Makarovs.

My Grandfather was in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corp (Lt. Col.) when WWII ended. He told me of taking barge loads of excess Thompsons, M-3s, and all sorts of rifles and pistols into the Gulf of Mexico off Lousiana and pushing them into the Gulf.

The Army had more excess weapons than they could store, so huge quanities were given the deep six.

Huge amounts of equipment was dumped in the Pacific at the end of WWIIl rather than bring it back to the States. They didn't need it, and it would cost a fortune to collect, , transport it back to the states and store it.. it is all about economics. Tanks, aircraft, trucks, field hospitals, artillary etc. etc. over the side.

Looks like the Estonia folks are doing the same thing, but recycling the metal.

This kinds of stuff happens all around the world on a regular basis..no need to stroke out about it.

That's our tax dollars at work (wherever this took place). I don't know of one political subdivision in this whole wide world that is not clamoring for more money through taxes. Yet, they can literally throw all of this money away (the value of the firearms) to ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE!!

1- "It's for the children"...

2- "If only one life is saved"...

3- "Guns are only designed for killing"...

4- You get the idea (and I am preaching to the choir:evil:).

I'm not too upset about some pistols getting shredded on the other side of the Pond. The problem is that it reminds me of all the firearms that were destroyed in Austrailia along with the monsterous laws that allowed such a thing to happen.

A few hundred pistols lost doesn't change anything. But an entire free country being disarmed....This bothers the heck out of me.
I get so pissed, I can hardly adress the issue.
