I have look in my book and online and can't find what I'm look for. I'm look for a load for a 32 S&W Long using a Berry MFG 71gr plated bullet. I can find 60gr and 85gr jacketed but not a 71gr. I know the 71gr is more commonly used in the 32 Auto. Not to be too difficult but I hope to use either Bullseye or Unique.

That is because the .32acp uses a smaller bullet than the .32 S&W.

The Berrys MFG Plated 71gr bullets are .312, which is the same size as the Hornady XTP for a 32 S&W, 32 H&R Mag and 327 Fed Mag. Speers lists the same 60gr GDHP for the 32 Auto and 32 S&W. The Hornady 71gr FMJ-RN for the 32 Auto is .311. I was hoping to use the less expensive Berrys. My problem is the starting loads for the 60gr are larger than the max loads for the 85gr using Bullseye.

If it can't or shouldn't be done, that’s ok. I'm just wondering or hoping.

What are you shooting these .32 S&W Long`s in ?

A Taurus 327 Mag with a 2in bbl. It bits a little with the 327's. The 32 H&R better. If I can use the Berrys 71gr on 32 S&W it will be cheaper than 9mm. And that is just right! I don't save money reloading, I just shoot more.

What are you trying to accomplish anyway, if it is just using a lighter bullet & you are using .32 S&W Long cases, then just go for it, if your Taurus is a .327 Fed. Mag. no matter what you do you are not going to over power it, if want to try a 71gr. bullet go for it, with 2 or 3 grs. of the Bullseye or Unique & give em a try.
