the only load i can find for the 357 is 4 grs with a 146 gr bullet.
it shows 1085 fps which is the same charge weight and speed as bullseye.
and one load of 3.8 with a 150 in the 38 special case. @ 900 fps
the old burn rate chart i found shows it between red dot and bullseye on the bullseye side.
it can be used n the 44 mag, and 45 colt with good success.
up to 8 grs with 200 to 235 gr bullets
up to 5.5 grs in the 44 up through the 250 gr bullet.
and up to 7 grs and 235- 260 gr bullets in the 45 colt.

good luck, and be careful.

umm i'm not five but usually when they only post one load ( or data for one load ) it's max and we should reduce accordingly for our start load ( following that old addage of "always start small and work safely up " ) according to the usual formula ( unless they note otherwise ) reduce by 10% leaves 3.6 for a start charge , which is just about in line as a max load for a 38 special in this case

reading is one of the best ways but there is no substitute for practical application ( ie; getting your fingers dirty so to speak ) erm you're welcome ;)

Pistol powder #6 has been on the discontinued list since at least the late 1950's as near as I can tell. I'm curious, but didn't you ask about this on another site? IIRC, someone did about a week or so ago and I posted the data. If not you, then there must be a supply of #6 showing up somewhere..
