Has anyone seen loads for really light 45 bullets in 45 acp I found some once but can not find them again. Reason I ask is I swage a 116gr half jacket that seems to shoot well unique sends it down range at 1275 fps and functions the slide well but I am looking for a bit more velocity out of such a light bullet.

How much Unique is in there? About 5 grains?
I'm not sure you are going to get much more out of the typical .45 ACP barrel.
HS5 might give you a little more. AL-120 and W231 are other possibles, but I don't have good load weights at 116 to tell you. I have had some good results with Hodgdon International, which is a little faster than Unique, but not as fast as W231.

7 grs. unique I should mention that bullet is hollow base to increase case capacity and put more weight in nose of bullet. and that it is fired out of 1911 with 5 inch barrel my Sig 3 3/4" drops about 100 fps with most loads. One exception is Corebon 165+P which does 1180-1200fps in Sig. but is a tad over 1400fps in 5" 1911 ?
I have seen load data somewhere before but can not find it again ? some commercial sources sell loaded ammo in this weight range and claim very high velocity.

I have Bullseye to RE-7 on hand in that powder line and some OLDER winchester powders in the right burn range along with Dupont in that range I think bullseye and W231 are a little fast for what I want but may well be wrong about that.

Bullseye is not a really good choice for any hot loads IME. It is a stellar performer in light target loads, especially with heavier bullets, so that makes it just about the opposite of what you want. I don't see why you can't up the charge of Unique, or you might try some 2400.

I can't help you with light bullet data right now. I am on vacation hunting in PA with my daughter and have no access to my loading data in NH, but I'll dig into it next week when we get back and see what I can find.

Thank you I think the same way about the fast powders slower is better. I to am deer hunting finally got a doe last hour of Michigan's season I am sure that it is the same doe that was twenty feet from me in the first hour 15 days age but I waited for the buck behind it to come into my property and got a shot at neither.
