It's an interesting idea for a wildcat and ought to be a great target, varmint, and deer cartridge. Ballistics ought to be between the .260rem and 6.5RLB (based on the 6.8SPC). I can find no information on it in anything I have on hand. I would probably start with .250Sav data for the same weight bullet and I'd be watching the chrono and carefully micing the case heads as I charge levels increase. Possibly some of the newer ballistic programs could give you a better idea based on case volume. Do you have a rifle chambered for it, or are you just looking for a new and interesting wildcat?

I have the gun, it's a Jap bring back that was wildcatted out in W. Ne. late 40s or early50s. Pretty gun, mannlicher stock with real nice wood, also have the custom dies. Whoever put it together did a real nice job. I traded a market hog for it in the early 80s and its beeen hanging around since. Decided i'd better take it to the range this spring. That's the whole story.

I noticed your thread over on RLB, too. You are more likely to get some usable data there as many play with different software, but everyone here will still be interested.

i'd compare your case volumn to the original 6.5 jap case volumn and go from there.
the others i'd look at are the 6.5 manlichter and carcano.
i used 6.5x55 swede data for a 6.5x57 on an arisaka action when i started my load development and went conservative.
worked up and now have a nice shooter.
