Here is some data I complied several years back when down loading some Turk and Ecuadorian Milsurp. Used all the same componets and just dropped the charge:
Original loads of Turk had an average velocity of 2840 with a 5 shot group. The Turk is loaded with a bullet weight of around 154grs.
After dropping the charge down to 40grs. the average velocity was around 2400.
My Lee Manual list a 150gr bullet with a charge of 36gr of IMR4895 giving a velocity of 2310. Of course OAL, test barrel length and such makes a difference but I feel they are somewhat the same and in working perimeters.
Ecudorian averaged around 2558 but this is with an average 198gr bullet. I dropped the charge to 38gr and received a velocity of 2202 on average. Now the closet I can compare from my Lee manual is a 170gr bullet loaded to 33.5gr of IMR4895 that gives a velocity of 2145. Again I feel it is within perimeters.
If anyone has any load data for the 8x57 with IMR4895 with between a 190 or 200gr jacketed bullet I would appreciate some feed back. Or even better with a cast bullet between 170 and 180gr.
